Santa Cruz Prepares for the Impact of World War III
Saturday, October 26, 2024
6:00 pm at London Nelson Community Center
301 Center Street
Everyone is welcome to participate in this free event
We sure hope World War III won’t start, but all signs are that the conflict in the Middle East and the regime change war against Russia is about to increase disruptions in the global supply chain. Even if we avoid a global war there is also the possibility of earthquakes, wildfires or an economic depression.
Gas prices could skyrocket if the US and Israel escalate their attacks on Iran. Food may be difficult to access and prices may increase. Phone service and internet access might be interrupted by cyber warfare, by attacks on the electric grid or by the government to silence opposition to the war effort. The economy is likely to crater forcing many in Santa Cruz into dire poverty. Many more of our neighbors could find themselves homeless.
We will discuss plans to bring our community together during these difficult times. There will be presentations on the logistics of providing food and drinking water, organizing communication networks, offering emotional support and building a system to resist martial law or forced military service.
CONTACT CITY HALL -STOP DRIVING THE HOMELESS OUT INTO THE
STORM The police will be pushing the unhoused out of the parking
garages and overhangs into this years storms. Tell city hall to open safe indoor
places for people to get out of the driving rains and winds.
